The short version
What is Gamay?
Gamay is the signature grape of Beaujolais. Simple Beaujolais can be playful and fruit-led, while the ten crus—such as Morgon, Fleurie, and Moulin-à-Vent—can offer more structure and age-worthy detail.
Raspberry, red cherry, cranberry, violet, and gentle spice lead. Carbonic or semi-carbonic winemaking can add distinctive candied-fruit aromas without making the wine sweet.
