The short version

What is Torrontés?

Torrontés Riojano is Argentina's best-known aromatic white grape. High vineyards around Cafayate in Salta are particularly associated with vivid perfume and refreshing acidity.

Peach, apricot, orange peel, rose, jasmine, and spice can make the wine smell sweet, but most examples finish dry. Bitterness at the finish can add useful grip.
