The short version

What is Vermentino?

Vermentino grows around the western Mediterranean, especially Sardinia, Liguria, Tuscany, and Corsica, where it is often called Rolle. Warm sun builds flavor while coastal sites help preserve freshness.

Lemon, green pear, white peach, herbs, fennel, and bitter almond are common. A subtle waxy texture can give the wine more presence than very light whites.
