The short version
What is Aglianico?
Aglianico reaches its most famous expressions in Taurasi in Campania and Aglianico del Vulture in Basilicata. It ripens late and can produce wines that develop for many years.
Black cherry, dark plum, dried herbs, smoke, leather, and mineral notes are common. High acidity and tannin make it feel stern when young but also give it impressive staying power.
